W1v2's offer enhanced power handling by combining JL Audio's Patented VRC and Elevated Frame cooling technologies. Additional technologies include the company's patented Floating Cone Attach Method along with an innovative, insert-molded spider assembly with integral push-terminals and special strain-relief features. Surrounds and outer frame gaskets are molded as one piece to enhance reliability.

The W1v2 Subwoofers are finished with a striking new look for JL Audio—a completely new, silver powdercoated, stamped-steel basket supporting an injection-molded, metallic-finish polypropylene cone with an embossed metallic JL Audio logo. As with the high-end W6v2 subwoofers, a removable mounting flange trim ring can be customized and can also receive grille-mesh inserts directly, without the need for additional grille hardware. (Grille mesh inserts are sold separately.)
